The ten sessions cover critical topics that all youth
face. Each session begins with a key scripture, to
help build a biblical foundation for the topic. One
focus word is used throughout the duration of each
session, helping to motivate the students and helping
them apply the lesson to their lives.

Session
1: Developing a Game Plan for Life
"In
his heart a man plans his courses, but the Lord determines
his steps."
- Proverbs 16:9
DETERMINATION This
session will help the students become aligned with
God's purpose and will in their lives. Activities
will be centered around deciding who they are, what
is important in their lives, what their reward system
will be, etc.
Session 2: Communication with
Parents
"Children,
obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
'Honor your father and mother' - which is the first
commandment with a promise - 'that it may go well
with you and that you may enjoy long life on earth.'"
- Ephesians 6:1-3
OBEDIENCE This
session will discuss communication techniques and
active listening for both parents and students. It
will stress the art of being quick to listen, slow
to speak, and slow to anger.
Session
3: Prayer
"'Call
to me and I will answer you and tell you great and
unsearchable things you do not know,' says the Lord."
- Jeremiah 33:3
COMMUNICATIONS & LISTENING
This session will focus on how we can have a victorious
prayer life even though prayer seems to be hard, boring
one sided. Why?
Session 4: Alcohol & Drugs
"Woe
to those who rise early in the morning to run after
their drinks, who stay up late at night till they
are inflamed with wine. They have no regard for the
deeds of the LORD, no respect for the work of his
hands."
- Isaiah 5:11-12
DECISION This session
will explain the negative effects of the drugs and
alcohol used in today's society. It will also examine
prevention strategies and support systems for healthy
choices.
Session
5: Anger & Violence
"In
your anger, do not sin: Do not let the sun go down
while you are still angry, and do not give the devil
a foothold."
- Ephesians 4:26-27
SELF CONTROL This
session will allow the students to focus on the importance
of keeping their anger and emotions under control
at
all times.
Session 6: Abstinence
"It
is God's will that you should be sanctified: that
you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you
should learn to control his own body in a way that
is holy and honorable."
- 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4
LOVE This session
will discuss the moral, physical, and emotional advantages
of obeying God's will that they should abstain from
sex until marriage.
Session
7: Racism
"There
is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor
female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you
belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and
heirs according to the promise."
- Galatians 3:28-29
EQUALITY This session
will discuss how racism and prejudice have been engrained
into our society, how it adversely affects everyone,
and why we must treat each other as God intended.
Session
8: Peer Pressure
"Am
I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God?
Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying
to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ."
- Galatians 1:10
PREPARATION This
session will reinforce with the students the importance
of standing firm in their beliefs and to be prepared
for anything that may come into their lives that could
cause them to fall into a trap that leads to sin.
Session 9: Stewardship
"That
is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed,
because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced
that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to
him for that day."
- 2 Timothy 1:12
ENTRUST This session
will focus on the reality that we own nothing and
that God has given us the tremendous responsibility
of taking care of all that is his. Activities will
be centered on using what God has given us, time,
talents, and treasures, to glorify him.
Session
10: Leadership
"Then
I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall
I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, "Here
am I. Send me!'"
- Isaiah 6:8
INTEGRITY This
session will illustrate for the students the leadership
qualities that a person of God must possess to make
a difference and lead others to the grace of Christ.
