A missionary in Germany (the director of Athletes in Action Europe) has been diagnosed with brain cancer and in all likelihood it will cause his death in a short time. This prayer request is NOT for his health. It is rather to ask for prayer that his story will draw others to the Lord.
"A brain tumor. There is scarcely a diagnosis that causes more fear or dread. It is often followed by urgent searches for new treatments, and cures and accompanied by pessimism and feelings of defeat. Yet this is not always the case.
The following letter, although not denying the challenges and tough times, poses another response to this most terrible illness. It may sound unbelievable, but it is nonetheless the true response of my friend Joe Smalley."
