There is a big difference in just finishing and finishing strong. In this final segment, Meadowlark addresses the players on the importance of finishing strong.

My first altar call was over 2000 people. That was scary. I had no idea that these people were going to get up. They didn’t walk, they ran down to the altar. They pushed me up against the back wall. I didn’t know what to do. But, the Holy Spirit came. I don’t know how many people I’ve led to the Lord in the last 15 years. It doesn’t matter. Some people want to keep count. The Lord is keeping count for me. He’s been keeping count now for 15 years.

He’s got you all waiting here. You are waiting here for a purpose. People want to see how you walk. People want to say well, why haven’t they won 12 games this year. It’s coming. Y’all waiting. God’s got y’all waiting here, and I’ve been watching. I’ve been watching from afar. I get a chance to see the scores. Last second, by a field goal. God’ going to put y’all over there. All y’all got to do now, is pray and obey. Pray and obey.

Jesus came here as a King who gave up everything. A King who was born in a manger. They didn’t have any Holiday Inns. The Boy came here, naked, with nothing and gave up everything He had, with the shepherds out there waiting for him. He had everybody else waiting for Him. He had one thing on His mind. You and me. He had us on His mind.

Everything was for Calvary. He said He wanted to go there. I thought about why did he want to go there. Because He’s the greatest finisher of all time - a great finisher. You defensive players, you know how good it is when you get in there and get you a sack. You receivers, you know how good it is to be crossing in the end zone. The ball is thrown over your head and you guys get up on your tiptoes to get it. You quarterbacks know how it feels when you finish with a good pass. You know, they are coming on you pretty fast, and they even hit you after you release that ball, and how well you finish. You are laying on your back, and you see that receiver pick it up. But Jesus is the greatest finisher of all time.

In the book of John, one of the last thing he said was, ‘It is finished. It is over.’ And he gave up the Ghost. And I’m glad he gave up the Ghost because of you and me. He was the greatest of all time.

I’m finished too, because it’s time to get out of here. I want to thank you all again for allowing me to be here. Usually I’m much more long winded. I usually preach for two hours. That’s my upbringing with the preachers that I’m involved with. They preach for a long time. But I know y’all have got to get out there and do good. I know you’re going to do good. Y’all are going to finish good. But, even if you don’t win today, y’all are this close to winning it all. Thank you so much, and God bless you.
